Kings XI Punjab looks very promising with their starting line-up under KL Rahul, but a lack of experience in their line-up can be a problem. Can they compete for the top 4? Have to wait and watch!

Strength:

Kings XI Punjab ensured that their playing eleven was strong by adding Glenn Maxwell and Sheldon Cottrell to their line-up. On paper, this team’s potential playing eleven looks very strong and young. Their explosive batting lineup will play a major role in their campaign.

Weakness:

Though Punjab had a lot of money left to buy more players, the team did not do so. This has left their bench strength very fragile and the absence of an expert Indian spinner will be a costly affair while picking foreign 4. Lack of experience might hurt them in this campaign.

Trump card –  Glen Maxwell

KXIP can rely on Maxwell to provide with the usual explosive fireworks under his sleeve. He could also pitch in a couple of overs considering the spin-friendly pitches of UAE.

Teams:

  • Batsman – Karun Nair, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh, Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda
  • Wicketkeeper – KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, Prabhsimran Singh
  • Allrounders – Glenn Maxwell, James Neesham, Tajinder Singh, Darshan Nalkande
  • Bowlers – Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Murugan Ashwin, Harpreet Brar, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jagadeesha Suchith, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Shami, Hardus Viljoen, Arshdeep Singh, Sheldon Jordon, Ishan Porel
  • Coach – Anil Kumble
