In the initial stages of the season, the Delhi team performed really well and was one of the toughest sides in this season of the IPL tournament. But, as the league kept moving on, the performance of the team stooped low when compared to their initial performances. The top-order batsmen like Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shikar Dhawan failed to perform consistently but still gave quite a few incredible performances. The unstable batting line up was the major factor for the losses that the Delhi Capitals suffered. Shreyas is the only lone warrior to have performed consecutively. The all-rounders did not prove their mettle in almost any of the games except for a couple of games by Stoinis. Though they have quality top seamers, they ain’t striking well during the powerplay which lets the opponent boost their score.
Possible – 11
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.
By knowing their pros and cons, Sunrisers Hyderabad plans its battles accordingly. A perfect bowling unit helps the batting line to set a low chase or defend the runs on board. The seam attack by Sandeep, Holder, and Nattu controls the opposition batsmen and also strikes them at regular intervals. Through the crew lost Bhuvi, they mitigated the issue and has reached qualifier 2 of the tournament. The lack of consistent support from the opening and middle-order batsmen could be the major void for SRH in the Q2. If Saha returns, it might be a big boost to the good batting line up before their big game.
Possible – 11
David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow (WK), Manish Pandey, Wridhaman Saha, Jason Holder, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan.
A win would put the team in finals. Two teams take on each other for a spot in finals against Mumbai Indians to play for the IPL trophy. The poor batting line up of DC go heads-on against the well-balanced bowling line up of SRH. Though it looks like and unbalanced match-up where SRH will dominate the DC side, DC can spring up enough surprises with the heavy arsenal in their armoury. This Qualifier 2 will be a very interesting clash where the teams will go on an all-out attack on each other. But still when the odds are considered, SRH has 51% with DC 49% of winning.
Sunrisers Hyderabad might win this clash.
