Vitality Blast-Matches Overview (16th July)

After an exciting start to the T-20 Blast from 9th of June and some staggering performances from many upcoming matured, young and destructive batsmen, the tournament has come out to be a productive one. We have seen some nail-biting encounters and some great bowling performances while some hard-hitting lads as well, the format of the game says it all.

The tournament may be on the ending phase with a couple of match days left in the fray while later we catch quarterfinals live from 24th August as in between most of the players will be involved in The Hundred, the other league which will commence on July 21. 16th July has nine matches going on in some of the other parts of England with excitement on the second last day remains the same as the teams are not finalized to get the ticket to finals of the league for which the hustle remains at still and cricketing actions goes on with same excitement on 16th July.

Northamptonshire vs Derbyshire: 

The teams which will go into a 20 Over battle are currently ranked at 8th and 7th positions respectively on the points table after 12 matches each in the North Group.

Northamptonshire and Derbyshire when met last time it was a low scoring one with Derbyshire chasing 143 in just 18.2 overs but the loss for Northamptonshire will not be easy and would be ready for revenge. Going head to head Derbyshire has a great record of 4-1 in the last matches they played against each other. While the odds favour the two-time champions Northamptonshire this time around.

Leicestershire vs Nottinghamshire: 

On the same day i.e 16th July two more teams from the North Group division lock horns where the contest is between the last and top standing teams in the group respectively. 

Notts with the likes of Samit Patel who has done amazing in this league in the past few years has been the main man for hard-hitting and getting done at last and the opener Alex Hales who is in the top three in the list of highest run-getter this season. This time around the Notts is expected to win and go on with the head-to-head record.

Hampshire vs Sussex:

 To get the ticket for finals, teams from South Group are up for it and when the teams like Sussex plays, it is always fun to watch the thrilling counter cricket. The teams still on 7th and 2nd on the points table will meet for the second time this league and Sussex will always be the favourites for the tie and will maintain the 4-0 record as in of last five matches.

With Hampshire having great opening pair of Vince and Short would like to end the winning streak against them. Sussex, the side of power-hitting lads namely Viese, Head, Bopara, Jordan, and more the teams looks heavy against the arch-rivals. Who will prevail let’s watch out on the 16th night?

Glamorgan vs Somerset: 

Somerset has the chance to qualify for the quarters but there are obstacles. The team is placed fourth on the table and will play against the team on the 8th respectively. Somerset has been the better side against Glamorgan in the last five matches and this time the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled on 12th June.

Glamorgan has been the better side in some matches and has the likes of Colin Ingram, David Llyod which may hamper the bowlers of Somerset. It would be a great encounter to watch where Somerset needs a win.
