“Match-fixing allegations to getting in the safe isle, its Madurai and Spartans”, the champion sides.
TNPL Team’s Overview
“TNPL gets the green signal after a pause for a year”
We are all set to have a regional cricket action taking place soon after the league was cancelled last year due to Covid, with all the eight teams representing the eight districts of Tamil Nadu state and this time with no audience in the stadium.
Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) was introduced in 2016 when CSK was facing a two-year suspension by N. Srinivasan, aimed to look or expose the young talented players from the districts with India cements being the sponsors.
With the season 2021 starting shortly a glimpse of the two teams will give us what’s the live scenario and where they stand with some quality players on their side.
Siechem Madurai Panthers, a team that represents the city of Madurai in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Madurai’s Brand Ambassador is the leading actress Ms Gayathri Shankar and the team’s CEO is Pooja Damodaren while they have appointed mentor Mr VV Kumar.
Madurai overcame a squad depression after 0 wins in 14 matches for the first two seasons in TNPL and it was a forthwith moment to see them winning the trophy in the third season, they showed grit, determination, real play, great cricket with a focus and a team effort to become zero to hero. Getting 10 wickets before the 20 over spell in the final shows the team’s spirit and the resilience that got them the trophy in 2018.
With the new season to start soon many of the Tamil players have gone on tours with Team India and the unavailability of their mystery spinner, Varun Chakravarthy due to international commitments will be a talking point as he was their main man.
The squad has to be built with the best of the talent and some hard hitters. The squad seems like this; R Mithun, V Gowtham, PS Nirmal Kumar, NS Chaturvedi, P Praveen Kumar, B Anirudh Sita Ram, Arun Karthik, R Rohit, R Aushik Srinivas, J Kousik, DT Chandrasekar, V Aaditya, R Silambarasan, M Shahjahan, K Deeban Lingesh, J Subramanyam, Rajkumar K, Sughendiran P, Saravanan PK, Aaditya V, Sunil Sam and L Kiran Akash.
