Erling Haaland has taken the footballing world by storm, the reigning golden boy award winner has broken onto the scene with his scintillating performances in front of goal his current club side Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The Norwegian wonder-kid scored 27 times in the Bundesliga this season and was also the top scorer of the champions league at the age of just 21!
Imagine beating the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to the champions league golden boot despite his team not reaching the semifinals of the competition.
The question which however surrounds the wonderkid is that with his release clause being only 75 million euros next year, where should he be headed to take the next step in what could be one of the greatest and most decorated careers.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR HAALAND?
Erling Haaland has attracted a lot of attention from the biggest clubs in the world due to his outrageous performances during the past two seasons. Not only has he proved that he is a player for the big occasion, but also that he is a consistent threat in front of goal and his work ethic is unmatched for a 21-year-old.
Players of his qualities are hard to come by in the modern game, which is why European champions Chelsea are highly interested in bringing his services to Stamford bridge.
Signing Erling Haaland will strengthen their attack even further and give them a consistent goal-scoring threat to lead the line in the premier league and Europe. A transfer however this summer seems difficult, mainly due to the high demands of Borussia Dortmund and along with the additional fees to his agents.
A move next summer seems the most suitable for Haaland, with clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United all expected to be interested in his services given the low release clause in his contract.
Juventus could also be a potential suitor for the player, due to the fact his agent Mino Raiola has a cordial relationship with the old lady and with Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract reaching its inevitable end, president Agnelli might want to go all-in for Haaland.
SETTING HIS PRIORITIES STRAIGHT
One of the things which would be on the agenda of Erling Haaland would be to join a club that can guarantee his trophies to add to his already promising CV. However, the interesting part would be to see which path will the wonderkid choose.
Would he rather Join the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona? And lead the new generation of superstars at the club, being part of a long-term project and adapting to changes around his team regularly? Or would he rather join the likes of United and Juventus, both clubs under a rebuilding phase, joining them would make him the face of the club and as well as the leader of the project.
However the easier way could be to join the likes of PSG or City, clubs with great players in every position and a winning project as of now, both of them guaranteeing him trophies and immediate success during his time at the club.
It will be important to see what choice will Erling Haaland make, but one thing is for sure, and that is that the goal machine is just getting started.
