IS IPL 2021’s overload of fixtures healthy for athletes?

BCCI to conduct the remainder of IPL 2021 in September and October in Dubai has caused an overload of fixtures. The total number of matches will be played in 27 days, Hence the 14 Edition of IPL has been postponed in May because of the wake of the covid 19 pandemic, bio bubble breach so the remaining matches will start from 19 September. It will be a high voltage match between Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings.

BCCI top brass said, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year.”

There will be 13 matches will be held in Dubai and 10 matches will be held in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi.

Moreover, there will be 7 Doubleheader matches, a total of 12 matches out of the 5 already played in India. The first match will start from 3.30 PM IST (2:00 PM Gulf Standard Time).and the second match will start from 7:30 PM IST (6:00 PM Gulf Standard Time).

After completing the IPL on 15th October teams will travel to Dubai and T20 World cup will start on the 17th of October.

The ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said

“We are delighted to announce the groups for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. There are some great matchups offered by the groups and it starts to bring the event to life for our fans as our first multi-team event since the onset of the global pandemic draws closer.

“Given the disruption caused by COVID-19, we selected the cutoff date as close as possible to the event to ensure we were able to include the maximum amount of cricket in the rankings which determine the groups. There is no doubt we will witness some highly competitive cricket when the event gets underway in just three months.”

According to the report BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said “It is good to get Oman in the frame of world cricket with the hosting of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It will help a lot of young players take an interest in the game. We know it will be a world-class event in this part of the world.”

Overall, yes it will be tough for the players for IPL2021 overload fixture is not healthy for Athletes but there is no choice for BCCI to execute the plan they just gone for that because India will tour England starting from 4th August, after completing the tour on 29th of August and will come back to India and play IPL From 19th September then T20 world cup has schedule from 17th of October and end on 14th of November.

There will be no Window for BCCI to conduct the remaining of the IPL later this year. Yes, there will be a doubleheader match otherwise it will be very much difficult to execute a plan and tough for the Athletes there they can come in contact with the virus, hence keep all these things in Mind “The show must go on” BCCI has conducted IPL 2021 from 19 September 2021.
