They will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have made an impressive recovery in the second leg of the IPL 2021. KKR’s performances have left a lasting impression on everyone. KKR has won three of their last four games played in the UAE. As a result, they now lie in fourth place with five wins in eleven games. They must win all three of their remaining games to secure a postseason spot.

Punjab Kings are presently sixth in the points rankings, having won four of their eleven games. KL Rahul and co. must win all three of their remaining matches to have any hope of making the playoffs. There isn’t much to be concerned about when it comes to bowling. Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Nathan Ellis, and Ravi Bishnoi have all performed admirably with the ball. Their main concern is the intermediate order. Aiden Markram has been among the runs, which is wonderful news for them; but, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran’s lack of runs isn’t helping them much. Nicholas Pooran has been given far too many opportunities.

Punjab Kings would be kicking themselves after missing out on a chance against Mumbai Indians. With a loss in that game, their hopes of qualifying have been severely harmed. They would need to win all three of their remaining matches and aim for a tie for fourth place. However, in order to proceed, they must enhance their net run rate.

Predicted 11:

KL Rahul (capt, wk), Mandeep Singh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Shahrukh Khan, Fabian Allen, Harpreet Brar, Ravi Bishnoi, Nathan Ellis, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami

Since the league’s restart, the Kolkata Knight Riders have been in excellent form. They have won three of four matches in the UAE leg. A campaign that was lagging in the first half has suddenly accelerated. All three of their remaining games are against teams from the bottom half of the table. As a result, they have a very excellent chance of making the playoffs.

The presence of Venkatesh Iyer at the top of the order had yielded benefits for KKR. The squad is competing with an aggressive attitude, and things are going well for them right now. Unfortunately, their two players, Andre Russell and Lockie Ferguson, will be out for the upcoming game due to injury. Eoin Morgan’s poor form is another source of concern for them. KKR’s top four have scored the majority of their runs, and there’s no disputing that they’re lacking firepower at the end of innings. If KKR were to make the playoffs, players like Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik must come back into the action.

Predicted 11:

Shubman Gill, Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan (capt), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy

Head-to-Head:

The head-to-head record will give us a better picture of how the teams will fare against one another. These figures accurately show how well the opponents exploited the teams’ shortcomings. And, for these two teams, who have met each other numerous times, these statistics show a definite tendency, to say the least.

Total Matches Played: 28

Kolkata Knight Riders Won: 19

Punjab Kings Won: 9

Pitch Report:

Both batsmen and bowlers will benefit from the pitch at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Batsmen consider Dubai to be the best of the three pitches used in the IPL 2021. This season, Kolkata has yet to play a game in Dubai, whereas Punjab has played one game here against Rajasthan. Rajasthan won by two runs in the game. In that game, Mayank Agarwal got a half-century, while KL Rahul scored 49.

The weather in Dubai is forecast to be hot and humid. The weather here should indicate that there is no chance of rain. A good game of cricket might be expected. The temperature will be approximately 42 degrees Celsius on average.

This is likely to be one of the most exciting matches of the season, with both teams featuring strong hitters and a sharp bowling unit. Isn’t it impossible to be excited to see how this one plays out?
