All things you need to know about ICC Awards 2021

Following a year that saw big international events such as the ICC World Test Championship Final and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, as well as other bilateral series in which records were broken, the ICC Awards 2021 aim to recognise the finest performances.

There will be a total of 13 individual awards, as well as five Team of the Year announcements for each format of men’s and women’s cricket, during this year’s awards.

The ICC Voting Academy, which includes a larger range of international cricket writers and broadcasters, will vote for their first, second, and third choices, while worldwide cricket fans will be able to vote for their favourite players via the ICC’s digital channels. The winner in each of these categories will be determined by combining the results of the ICC Voting Academy picks and the votes of the fans.

The ICC Spirit of Cricket Award recognises an action, moment, gesture, or decision made on the field of play in international cricket during the year that best reflects the spirit of the game, as determined by the ICC, while the ICC Umpire of the Year Award is determined by votes cast by the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees and Full Member men’s and women’s captains.

The ICC Voting Academy will also pick the five ICC Teams of the Year via an online survey, with each voter selecting their teams in the batting order and suggesting a captain for each format.
