Rohit Sharma is impressed by Prasidh Krishna’s game winning spell

India won the second One-Day International (ODI) over West Indies by 44 runs in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, putting the series 2-0 in India’s favour. When Team India batted first, they were dealt early blows when captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant all walked back to the pavilion without contributing much to the effort. Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul, on the other hand, played 64 and 49-run innings, respectively, to save India’s batting line-up from further collapse.

The West Indies bowlers bowled brilliantly against the hosts, limiting Rohit Sharma’s side to 237/9. Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith each took two wickets for the visitors.

In response, India’s energetic bowling performance from the first ODI continued, with wickets falling at regular intervals. In his nine-over performance, Prasidh Krishna was the standout of the bowlers, taking four wickets while allowing only 12 runs. The speedster’s four-wicket haul helped India bowl out the West Indies for a meagre score of 194, giving the Men in Blue a 44-run victory in the three-match series.

According to Rohit Sharma, the partnership between Rahul and Suryakumar was mature, and it helped India post a respectable total in the end. The India skipper praised Prasidh Krishna’s outstanding bowling performance, saying that he hasn’t seen anything like it in India in a long time.

“It goes without saying that winning the series is a great feeling. There were some difficulties. Rahul and Surya’s partnership had a lot of maturity to it. In the end, we came up with a reasonable total. We were confident in our ability to fight it out. The entire team came out and bowled quite well. It’s critical for these players to bat under duress, and that’s how you’ll assess their character, “At the post-match presentation, Rohit stated.

“We don’t mind losing a few games to try out some new ideas. Because it is critical to consider long-term objectives, we’ll see what works best for the team as a whole. The lack of dew caught me off guard. For a long time, I haven’t seen a spell-like that in India. He continued, Prasidh bowled with a lot of velocity and kept it going.”

“Surya needed to take his time and figure out what the team expected of him. KL batted admirably as well, despite his inconsistency in the middle order. I’ve been challenged to try something new. We wanted to give it a shot in one game. Shikhar should be available for the next game”, according to Rohit.

“That was something flattering for me because he (Rohit) has been playing cricket for a long time,” Prasidh remarked during a virtual news conference when asked about Rohit’s words about him. (Applause) Coming from him, I’m overjoyed.”

“As I previously stated, I have been putting in yards and attempting to do this for quite some time, so I am delighted it happened today,” he added.

The bowler, speaking on his brief stint with India, claimed that he has been working hard to improve his consistency since his debut.

“It’s been over a year since I made my India debut. Since then, I’ve been working to improve my consistency.
