How has the impressive AC Milan dominated the proceedings in the Serie A?

Humans tend to enjoy the time when everything goes haywire. Remember the 2011-12 Premier League season. It wasn’t over until it was over. Who would have believed that Manchester City would concede and fall into a disadvantage and then rise again in the most dramatic fashion ever at 93:20, thanks to a certain Argentine. Then again, Manchester City did it again, this time with Liverpool winning the Premier League 2018-19 by a single point. Even this season, just a point separates Liverpool and City. A similar fashion is observed in the Italian Serie A. A difference between the two points is all that separates AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Prologue:

While Inter Milan is the defending champions of Serie A and was expected to surmount a title challenge, it was AC Milan that pulled out the big guns. The Rossoneri have been the surprise package of the season so far. The Stefano Pioli led side has been nothing short of sensational. Words can’t describe the magic the Italian manager has had on the Rossoneri.

Disciplined Defense:

AC Milan has shown remarkable discipline in all the departments this season. Their defensive unit has been excellent, thanks to the presence of Fikayo Tomori. The former Chelsea lad has been impressive on his loan to the Italian side last season. That led to Pioli signing him on a permanent basis. The English defender has played 2638 minutes this season. Tomori has made 2.3 successful tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game this season. Pierre Kalulu has supported Tomori very well, making 2.1 successful tackles a game. They are ably complemented by Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli. The presence of Alessandro Florenzi and Ballo-Toure has helped them stabilize the right flank whenever Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria have moved up to attack.

Reliable Attack:

Another fact that played out well for Rossoneri is signing Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman delivered the goods whenever Milan needed him to. Coming off the bench, Giroud has been nothing short of a super sub.
Rafael Leao has been brilliant this season, scoring 11 goals. Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to defy his age and produce stellar goals every season. This season he has knocked in 8 worthwhile goals.

Learning from their mistakes:

The biggest plus for Rossoneri is that they have learnt from their mistakes. They lost the Serie A race last season due to a dip in form in mid-season. They avoided it this season by planning suitable replacements for Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer, who left for the African Cup of Nations.

Rossoneri almost has one hand on the coveted Serie-A title now, and they need a win to make it theirs. Inter, on the other hand, will pray that they surely win the title and Milan loses or draws out on the final day. Whatever the case may be, Scudetto is coming back to San Siro this year.
