There was a time in football when clubs had offered a high-paid contract to the defenders that helped them strengthen their defensive line. During the time from 1999 to 2005 defenders were the highest-paid players in their squad. But the wheel had turned around when Cristiano Ronaldo had left from Manchester United To Real Madrid for £80 million in 2009. Following the trend were many strikers like Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Neymar Jr, Phillipe Coutinho, Kylian Mbappe, Joax Felix, Jack Grealish, etc. As we are headed to the end of the current season in European football, many players are now with no contracts with their current club and move to different clubs this summer.
Paulo Dybala is a 28-year-old, Argentine footballer who is currently playing his 7th season for the Old Lady, Juventus F.C, and will be for a free transfer this summer. He joined Juventus on June 4, 2015. The club had bid him farewell after getting substituted in the 78th minute for his last match against Lazio. He has scored a total of 115 goals in his time for Juventus. Dybala finished his contract in 2018, but the club was interested in a new extension till 2022 summer. Now the club has failed in the negotiations with the striker and the striker was forced to find a new club this summer.
This summer he will be getting offers from many clubs from different leagues Dybala had talks with Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea which is now owned by Todd Boehly. Real Madrid is keen to sign the Argentine striker as they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland this season as they have signed for PSG and Manchester City respectively. Arsenal is planning for the striker if they fail to sign a contract with Gabriel Jesus. As Bayern fail to extend the contract of Robert Lewandowski they would need a new goal-scoring striker for their team. Inter Milan has new plans for him, as they sold Romero Lukaku to Chelsea for £100 million and will need a replacement for him. Liverpool also looks interested in the Argentine forward.
The striker has very interested to play under Jose Mourinho who is currently the manager for AS Roma which will play the Conference League final against Feyenoord on 25th May 2022. Diego Simeone is a huge fan of this striker and they both being Argentine footballers make their style of play familiar to them. Manchester City will try to sign the striker as Gabriel Jesus will for Arsenal, and Pep will try a combo of him and Haaland next season. Manchester United needs to rebuild their squad and Erik Ten Hag will keep an eye on the striker. With a weaker financial condition, there’s no way FC Barcelona will let a free transfer player get away, especially if he’s one who can inherit Lionel Messi’s role in the team.
As so many teams are pushing hard for this Argentine striker because he has the ability to adapt himself to any position in the attack. His quickness, agility, stamina, and shots out of the box make him a perfect winger. Due to his low center of gravity and to cut into defenses, exceptional dribbles in one on one situations make him a keen forward. With his great technical abilities has the option to forward, wingers, inside forward, playmaker, false attack midfielder, false 9, inverted winger, a center midfielder, mezzela, box to box midfielder, etc.
As players complete their contracts they have 2 options provided to the first to continue with the same team or move to a different team for some new exposure. Dybala had a good time at Juventus but there is no extension of the contract from the Old Lady. Dybala has the chance to either stay in Serie A or explore leagues like La Liga, Premier League, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga. Will Dybala shift to a new team in Serie A? or Will he move out of Italy and adapt to a new League? Stay Tuned with The Sportsway for more updates.
