Can Hardik Pandya escort the Indian squad to the upcoming T20 World Cup?

Every team looks forward to its captain in desperate measure of times. A good captain can transform an ordinary team into a winning team just by changing the morale. After MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, India looks forward to a new captain who can lead them to new heights of fame and success. Hardik Pandya seems to be a promising option for India in these times. After winning the IPL trophy with Gujarat Titans in their inaugural season, Hardik has shown the selectors a glimpse of his leadership.

Gujarat Titan’s Hardik Pandya has won the IPL trophy for this season. In their inaugural season, they seemed very destructive. In their 14 group stage matches, they have won 10 and lost 4. Being the first team to qualify for the playoffs, their captain has had a pretty amazing season. Scoring 487 runs in 15 innings, with a strike rate of 131.26, shows his all-time best performance with the bat. He also picked up 8 wickets in the entire tournament. The all-rounder had been awarded the man of the match with an amazing 3-17 and 37 of 30 balls, showing his contribution to the big night. This trophy could hurt Mumbai Indians as they didn’t retain Hardik Pandya yet instead retained Kieron Pollard, who seemed to struggle this season. The all-rounder expresses being grateful to play with MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, which has helped him to gain experience in his captaincy. He has been thankful to MS Dhoni for being a key success in his captaincy; the ability to make decisions based on the situations is a very well-known trait of the Captain Cool.

As the World Cup approaches near, Team India needs their best 11 to face their opponents in the World Cup. As Kohli and Sharma seem inconsistent this IPL season. His tremendous performance this year with bat and ball and winning the IPL with Gujarat as their captain shows his capability to captain Team India cannot be neglected for the T20 World Cup 2022 and World Cup in 2023. HE may not be the first name in mind for the selectors, but they sure can’t draw a captain without him being on the list. Will the BCCI appoint Hardik Pandya as the new captain? Will Hardik be able to make a stand, being a competition for the captaincy’s role? Will he take over the captaincy once the veteran steps down? Time will tell.
